Boosterism

Maybe "boast its top ranking MSc Management" is just a little too much. First, their is no evidence that the school "boasts" it. Second, the MSc in Management is de facto not ranked yet.

In my opinion it would be wiser to create a new page "imperial college business school" and then redirect to there with the same content. 78.105.62.181 (talk) 10:56, 7 September 2008 (UTC)

Although there seems to be speculations that Dr Tanaka might not have given the full amount pledged, there appears to be no official evidence to support this theory. So I have added a 'citation needed' tag to the statement that claims Imperial raised the capital for the building themselves. HarlaCo (talk) The tone of this article is more than slightly like marketing material, especially since there a number of unsupported claims made, such as

"The School also has very popular Master's programmes in Finance,"

"The School also has a thriving PhD programme."

"The Finance and Accounting group is very active in quantitative finance research"

"The Business School’s faculty engage in a wide range of research activities that span the full range of business disciplines and branch out into other areas of expertise at Imperial College."

As it happens, I know these statements to be true, but that is personal research and thus insufficient, and the tone is far from neutral

More debatable are the claims:

"The Group's work is complemented by the three specialist groups that distinguish the Business School from its competitors"

"The Group's work informs policy design and organisational behaviour in this field. "

The worst puff includes

"Research in the sciences and engineering disciplines have led to massive changes in the way we live and the goods we consume. "

Does this mean anything other than the article has been edited by someone in the development office at Imperial ?

"Each of these groups coalesce a critical mass of people with similar interests and run extensive programmes of research in their own right. "

Imperial has some smart people, quite a lot of them, but this is just puff.

In summary this article fails to make citations to support claims that look as though lifted from a brochure, and fails to cover much of substance.

Introduction

As you may gather from my account name, I am an Imperial College Business School employee. I chose this username so that my affiliation with Imperial College Business School is clear and still appropriate as per WP:ORGNAME.

Out of respect for guidelines on Conflict of interest and the importance of a neutral point of view I will not make any edits to this article.

However, due to recent School updates I note there are a few inaccuracies and would like to help improve the quality of the article, for example by providing resources to update company information. I’ll start with small, focused suggestions which I will post on this page later. I look forward to working with the Wikipedia community, and don’t hesitate to ask me any questions!

Imperial College Business School - Rebrand

In early September the School underwent a re-brand.. Following the re-brand I suggest the page be updated with the new logo, viewable on our website..
