Re: specifications

[edit]

I have expanded this article a little, but the problem is my source quotes specifications for what seems to be a totally different aeroplane, just about every parameter doesn't agree with those in this article:-

my source - OKB Yakovlev by Yefim Gordon Article source - Enc of russian A/C Bill Gunston

Thoughts:- Gordon seems to have got his marterial direct from the OKB but Gunston's source was mostly Shavrov, who, though prolific in his archiving, did make numerous small mistakes.

Discussion anyone? Petebutt (talk) 16:48, 7 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well Gunston doesn't seem to be soley based on Shavrov, and does seem to have access to some post Soviet Archives for some OLBs (which may or may not have included Ilyushin), but Gordon is 9 years later and so may well be more accurate as it is based on later research - at a pinch I would go with Gordon - it would be handy to see just how diffent to fugures are.Nigel Ish (talk) 10:10, 8 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Nemecek has different figures for length (17m) and span (12.59m). MilborneOne (talk) 11:12, 6 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Can't say that I'm surprised, but the most I'd do would be to annotate it if you think that it's significant considering how long ago Nemecek published. Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 17:55, 6 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Dabs and alt links check out.
  • "Gorbach (en: Hunchback)" reads awkwardly. Maybe "Gorbach, or "Hunchback"" or something like that would be better.
    • How does it read now?
  • There isn't any location information in the article about where the aircraft was produced or tested.
    • Not available.
  • Height is not specified in the characteristics section.
    • Not in my sources.
  • Please make refs consistent as to whether or not they use the harvnb template.
    • Done.
Will check back soon. —Ed!(talk) 08:23, 24 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
