Ilya or Illya?

[edit]

This article should be moved from "Illya Nyzhnyk" to "Ilya Nyzhnyk", I think. In Cyrillic the kid's name is "Илья Нижник" with one л and there is no reason to transliterate it with two els; he has the same first name as Ilya Repin, Ilya Ilyich Mechnikov or Ilya Ehrenburg. I know that currently "Illya Nyzhnyk" gives slightly more google hits than "Ilya Nyzhnyk", and that major sites likes chessgames.com and even FIDE use the version with two els, but that really seems to be a case of people thoughtlessly copying a typo. It makes no sense. DAVID ŠENEK 16:12, 18 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's not a typo. The spelling "Illya" is based on the Ukrainian variant of his name: Iлля.--Alexmagnus2 (talk) 01:09, 1 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
