WHY?[edit]

This disanmiguation page is a wast of space. An iklwais is a specific type of assegei which is used by the Zulu as a thrusting weapon which is so called because of the sound made when removed from the wound. In other words both the items on it are exactly the same thing. (Roomoneohone (talk) 23:35, 7 June 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Your absolutely right, the entries are redundant. And Wikipedia already has Assegai. I suggest that anything useful here be merged into that article. Awg1010 (talk) 01:50, 19 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You would then have to merge all pole weapons since the Falarica is similar and has its own page. This simple modification changed the way that war was fought and had a dramatic impact on the entire region. While physically it is really just a short Assegai, it is not used like an Assegai and thus is different —Preceding unsigned comment added by 137.219.12.124 (talk) 10:24, 16 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed an Assegai is a throwing spear and a general term for african spears - the Zulu stabbing spear is only derived from spears and more a sword by use —Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.95.42.224 (talk) 14:19, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Removed merge tag per above, no discussion or action in 2 years. Stabbing spear, more sword-like blade, not thrown, etc. 72.228.177.92 (talk) 03:22, 14 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
