1. The founder of modern Ikara is Mr G. G Wilbert (Late) 2. Mr G. G Wilbert retired from the Bendel State Civil Service voluntarily as a Permanent Secretary in 1981 3. Construction of the physical road to Ikara was spearheaded by Mr G.G Wilbert, and the first culvert crossing on the road was inaugurated by Lt Col John Mark Inienger, who was then Military Governor to Bendel State 4. Prominent citizens of Ikara include Mrs Christ T. Wilbert who is a prominent caterer in Edo State, Lawrence Anirejuoritse Wilbert (Engineer) who was the community trust chairman for a period of 8 years, Nelson Eyituoyo Wilbert (Engineer).
