[edit]

I've made a large number of edits to the article, basically to tidy up and organise the material provided by other editors. There was a lot of overlapping material, often placed in what seemed to me to be the wrong sections. I have not removed any substantive content, nor have I added anything new. A lot of the material is of fairly low quality in terms of value for a bio article, consisting of apparently random snippets and tangential episodes. Mikardo had an interesting political career and hopefully someone who knows their Labour Party History better than me or has read his autobiography can beef it up. I've cut this link to a video clip as it has no context and Mikardo only appears very fleetingly. Mikardo is seen in this video at The Labour Party Conference in 1968.[1] Mccapra (talk) 18:53, 17 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Reading pads

[edit]
The Labour Party continues to refer to multiple-carbon copy lists of party supporters (used to allow party activists to contact those who had not voted) as 'Reading Pads'.

This text was removed because there is no association (in the article) with Mikardo. —Saltmarsh 11:26, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reselection

[edit]

I suggest that the article should include mention of the Mikardo position during the debate on reselection of MPs in the late 1970s. PatGallacher (talk) 01:35, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
