Post-hardcore
[edit]guess what guys? i found a citation saying that I See Stars is indeed post hardcore. see here and here. thank you very much. and i think it was a good idea to protect the page, whoever did it.--Krazycev 13 21:27, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
I protected the page. As long as everything is cited, I'm happy. My citation for screamo can also be applied to electronica as well. GaudiumInVeritate (talk) 21:30, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
- Ok then. sounds good. but i agree that the warring edits were a little bit ridiculous. as the admin said, please just discuss these disputes on the talk page instead of constantly editing the page over and over.--Krazycev 13 21:33, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
Agreed. GaudiumInVeritate (talk) 21:33, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
- Just noticed something. Your citation states that they are screamo, post-hardcore, and emo. No where does it say electronica. We'll have to go source hunting for that. Because i personally believe they are in fact electronica.--Krazycev 13 21:45, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
First line: "I See Stars are a hardcore band from Michigan who made their album debut in 2009 with a hybrid style drawing from both screamo and electronica." GaudiumInVeritate (talk) 21:50, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
- Oh haha my bad. Only looked at the side genres. Heh. Sorry.--Krazycev 13 21:53, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
In fact, that source can be used to cite all the genres. GaudiumInVeritate (talk) 21:55, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
- Indeed it can. We really need this page unprotected so we can do this right.--Krazycev 13 21:57, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
I'll talk to the admin. GaudiumInVeritate (talk) 21:58, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
Haha nevermind, I see you already are. I agree that Gunmetal needs to be in on this. He's very hardheaded. GaudiumInVeritate (talk) 22:00, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
- So are you apparently. I've removed the protection because both of you are now blocked for continuing your edit war elsewhere. Beeblebrox (talk) 23:37, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
I added alternative rock as a genre, becuase the source used for the other genres had alternative rock on THE TOP of the genres list on the left of the page.--♫ Chris-B-Koolio ♫ ... (Talk) 23:23, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
- Ok, I moved the references for the genres into a new section i created, entitled "Musical style". The section was much-needed anyways, because little was written about the band's style/sound. Anyways, all of the genres are still the same, and all of the references are still the same. The only difference is that the infobox is much cleaner, and a new section clearly defines the band's music. =D --♫ Chris-B-Koolio ♫ ... (Talk) 23:54, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
Drug Trial
[edit]The majority of band members were arrested for the use of psychedelic drugs, this is not featured in the article however. Such information would probably need to be sourced; so I'm not going to add it in. 178.16.14.191 (talk) 19:38, 3 February 2014 (UTC)
Departure of Jimmy Gregerson
[edit]I haven't found any statement about Jimmy Gregerson not being in the band anymore. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.205.162.65 (talk) 08:18, 1 August 2015 (UTC)
- Interesting that you say that. I just came to this talk page to discuss about the same thing. Did he actually leave the band, or not? Please provide us with at least one reliable source backing up this claim. --59.22.101.111 (talk) 02:26, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
- The band didn't say anything so far and their Facebook page still says he's in the band. He, however, didn't participate in the promotion action for their latest record and when asked if he's still part of a band, he gave a thumb down on his Instagram account [1]. But all of this isn't an actual source.
- (So if you don't have anything new, please DO NOT remove him from the band member section. This is only a rumour so far.) — Preceding unsigned comment added by MisterReese (talk • contribs) 12:54, 18 September 2015 (UTC)
- I don't know if the source is good enough to say that Jimmy has parted ways with the band. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.220.61.55 (talk) 04:37, 9 October 2015 (UTC)
Time Line
[edit]Since the departure of Gregerson and Johnson, the band's time line on Wikipedia endured many changes. Some for better, some for worse (obvious vandalism). Other changes, however, have been made with a good intention. Therefore I'm starting this section to offer the opportunity to justifiy one's opinion. I'll use this to start right away.
I See Stars started as a Pop-Punk cover band. Therefore nobody in the band provided unclean vocals until Johnson joined and they started to play Electronicore. A. Oliver does provide vocals for the band, however, he's not a co-vocalist. That's why I increased the drum's width and reduced the vocal's width. He also didn't stop playing drums before the release of Phases, since he was listed as the band's drummer in the booklet and could be seen playing the percussions during their supporting live shows. I changed back the date to 18th, February, 2016 because that's the day of their first live show with a new line-up and the first evidence of him not playing the drums.
I doubt that this time line needs a seperate section for touring members, but I want to compromise our different visions of it. First off, I don't see the necessity to add the four session members who participated in the 'Phases (Raw & Unplugged) Tour'. Everyone knew this was only temporary for one acoustic album and there is no sign in sight that this might happen again in the near futute. Every band uses session musicians once in a while. Furthermore it's confusing to see a cellist in the time line of a Hardcore band. Bands like Skillet also use guest cellists during their show but these aren't listed as band members either. I let the bar of the band's touring drummer untouched because it's very likely he's going to stay for more than just one tour or Maybe the band will even announce him as a permanent member. He's more relevant to the time line than the other session musicians. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MisterReese (talk • contribs) 10:41, 14 March 2016 (UTC)
I also couldn't find any sources that show A. Oliver playing keyboard in 2005. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MisterReese (talk • contribs) 12:44, 17 March 2016 (UTC)

Unregistered (and some registered) users constantly change major parts of the member section without adding any sources to back up those alteration. Everything done is based on a personal opinion and seems to be very likely an act of vandalism. Whenever there's a contradict source, it's simply deleted. This is in no way an enrichment to this page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MisterReese (talk • contribs) 18:48, 20 March 2016 (UTC)

[edit]I noticed that there isn't a photo implemented above or in the info box. I believe incorporating an image or two would make this a better and reliable article for readers. Wizpig10 (Talk)

EDM (Electric dance Metal)
[edit]I believe their genre is as stated for I know that they are credited with being one of the founding bands as far as the genre goes. 2600:1700:FB5:8880:91B7:D705:52B7:A44D (talk) 00:46, 11 January 2022 (UTC)
