[edit]Bank robbery section needs considerable cleaning.
I removed the POV speculation about what would happen to the IRA army council because of the northern bank robbery. Since the investigation seemed to go nowhere after money was found in a PSNI hangout in Febuary, there is no longer 'mounting' evidence. Also whether the PIRA commited the robbery or not, with other more recent events, its no longer likely that police forces will move against the (P)IRA Army Council.SCVirus 20:58, 11 September 2005 (UTC)
I've removed most of the names in the "Membership" section as no source was provided. As in the Slab Murphy case, allegations of IRA Army Council membership can lead to libel cases, so please don't add them back in without providing a reputable source. Demiurge 20:41, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
You will notice in (1) that Bernard Fox has stood down from the Army Council.
More than one "IRA"... more than one "Army Council"?
[edit]The article as it stands assumes that "IRA Army Council" only refers to the Provos. But surely the "Official" IRA also had an Army Council? And what about the IRA before the split? And the "old" IRA that fought in the War of Independence? Andrew Gwilliam (talk) 23:12, 13 June 2011 (UTC).
- Agreed. Honestly it seems a lot more history must exist to this than the page currently contains, but it depends how secretive it was/is and as such how much would be OR. 90.198.253.144 (talk) 22:32, 28 October 2022 (UTC)
