Drum Access Time
[edit]The time 8.5 μs quoted for drum “access time” appears to be transfer time for a single word. The drum turned at 3600 rpm, and could not conceivably have so short a latency, which is what ”access time” normally means today. A photograph of the drum suggests that it might have had more than one head per track, but no more than 16 at the most. 47.17.0.28 (talk) 13:42, 10 July 2019 (UTC)
