Hi, I consulted the original source for this formula : Majumdar 2002 "Oil hydraulic systems : Principles and maintenance" New Delhi Tata Mc Graw Hill page 164 (ISBN 0074637487). The formula given by Wikipedia differs from the source. The formula in the source seems erroneous (coefficient 1,2 in the denominator !??), and besides, is hampered by the use of non-coherent units for the following parameters : QL (leakage vol. flow rate) delta P (pressure drop) dynamic viscosity (mu).
The formula in Wikipedia does indeed seem to make sense, ON CONDITION that the following set of units (along SI conventions) be adopted : Q vol. flow rate : m^3/sec Delta P : N/m^2, Pa Spool diameter d : metre radial clearance c : metre Clearance length L : metre specific mass rho : kg/m^3 kinematic viscosity nu : m^2/sec
May I suggest you add this units information in your document, for clarity Regards MBz Michel6244 (talk) 16:09, 25 February 2021 (UTC) Michel6244 (talk) 09:48, 19 February 2021 (UTC)
