Flower color

[edit]

Yes, you can change the flower color by changing the soil pH. However, if you want blue flowers, do you make the soil more acidic or more basic? (& vice-versa for pink flowers)
Which chemicals are best for these purposes?

Heh heh, I tried it. It turns out that if there's more aluminium in the soil, the flowers come up blue. But that's probably original research. Professor M. Fiendish 05:07, 23 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There will be a paper or book on it somehwere. It does take quite a while for the flowers to change colour though. At least a year if not more. Casliber (talk · contribs) 05:42, 23 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Can anyone provide photographs of two colours at different pH of the same flower?

[edit]

It will be good if there is a photograph which distinguishes the flower color according to the pH of the soil. I don't know if this is practical, however if possible then it will be good to provide the two pictures of the same plant at the same angle but with different coloured flowers.VanischenuTM 06:33, 16 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
