Article creation
[edit]This artice was created because the term "Hybrid coupler" is listed as a missing article on Wikipedia:Missing science topics/List of antenna terms. Gerry Ashton 23:34, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
Stub
[edit]I noticed that User:Wser added the {{stub}} template to the Hybrid coupler article. I view that as an extended redirect to the Power dividers and directional couplers article. A plain redirect wouldn't work, but a definition followed by a link seem sufficient to me.
I would encourage people to expand the Power dividers and directional couplers article rather than the Hybrid coupler article. How do other editors feel about the stub template? --Gerry Ashton 14:38, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
Is this a redirect?
[edit]Regarding this reversion there is no reason that this article should not be expanded into a more complete page. Despite what has been said above, I don't think that such an all-encompassing article as Power dividers and directional couplers could possibly contain all details of every type. It could end up growing to something quite unmanageable. At least we should not be discouraging editors from adding material by reverting them. If it is felt necessary, the material can moved to another article at a later date. SpinningSpark 20:09, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
- I don't think it's helpful to have most of the information at Power dividers and directional couplers but a few tidbits here. I understand there is a new Draft namespace. I have not read up on how that works, but perhaps an article could be developed in a draft that covers all the basics of hybrid couplers, and when it is good enough to substitute for the content at Power dividers and directional couplers, it could be copied into this article. - I've now come round to this way of thinking and redirected the page. No objection if someone wants to create a full article here, but as Jc3s5h says, it needs to have at least the amount of information on hybrids as there currently is in Power dividers and directional couplers. I've also added to that article all the explanations and links that were here so we haven't lost anything. SpinningSpark 14:53, 11 November 2016 (UTC)
