[edit]I just want to say that the article was a lot easier to read and less cluttered when it was written chronologically (ie, her origins in the beginning), and not in the order of when the actual issues were published. --DrBat 22:36, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
I'm moving this page back to "Huntress (Helena Bertinelli)" on account of the Batgirl stint having been very short and non-notable. Virtually every comic book character has used more than one codename. The page's title should only be the same as the character's real name when both the codenames were long-lasting and notable (therefore, the Silver Age Batgirl/Oracle article is at "Barbara Gordon", but no one would support the idea of moving the Superman article to "Kal-El" because of him having also having fought crime under the names Nightwing and Nova). In adittion, both Bertinelli herself and her teammates referred to her as "Huntress" while she was Batgirl, making it very clear that the whole event wasn't meant to have any more significance than some Silver Age "World's Finest" stories where Superman would impersonate Batman for one-issue and vice-versa. Also, when moving articles, please check that you don't create any looping double redirects, and make sure you also moved the associated talk page. This page has a lot of redirects, and they got confusing when editors moved the article back to its former title without altering them. Wrapping up, if you disagree with me and wish to move to remove the "Huntress" from the article's title, please move the page to "Helena Bertinelli" rather than "Helena Bertinelli (comics)", as there is no notable real-life Helena Bertinelli we might confuse Huntress with. Earth 8
[edit]was it officially confirmed that the bertinelli version was from earth-8?Marhawkman 19:33, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
Derivative chararacter
[edit]This version of Huntress is a derivative character of the Huntress and no upon reviewing the extrapolated content on this page does not seem to merit its own page anymore than the other versions. In addition, there are no third party sources only references to primary source material which verifies that there is no valid reason for this article outside of fandom. Netkinetic(t/c/@) 05:58, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
- So what if she's derivative? She's the current character and has been for the better part of two decades. She has lasted a lot longer than Helena Wayne did. Yeah, the article needs sources, but the lack of third party sources is insufficient reason to eliminate an article. If it were, we'd lose most of the comics articles. Doczilla 00:59, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
- So then why does this article objectively merit existence as a separate article? What is the harm in merging this article back into the original parent article? Netkinetic (t/c/@) 04:28, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
Self-contradictory
[edit]the article states the names of Bertinelli's partens to be Carmela and Guido at one place and at another it claims them to be Maria and Franco (respectively: Santo). One should clarify which one are obsolete and which one accknowledged in topical continuity--134.34.67.33 12:53, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

Kill the Killer Shark?
[edit]Hi. Just spent awhile cleaning up some things and adding to the summaries of the key "Cry for Blood" and "Year One" storylines. I'd like to suggest that the last paragraph of the "Outsiders/Birds" section about a recent issue or two with Killer Shark be deleted as, unlike the miniseries described elsewhere, it's not significant to the character's ongoing development. However, I thought I'd first propose the change here, invite comment before I go knocking off someone's work. I see this page is not fiercely maintained, so if there's no comment or action on this in the near future, I'll just make the move. Thanks. Alias1219 (talk) 08:57, 13 November 2008 (UTC)

Merge?
[edit]Helena Bertinelli is based on Helena Wayne. I think we should merge them into into one article. There are parallels from different universes living at different times, but the are somehow retconned to each other. I think one article is neccisary. The Menz2 (talk) 19:26, 18 March 2011 (UTC)
- There are a few problems here:
- Primarily, they each are distinct characters, presented in distinct ways. Aside from the commonality of "Female Bat-verse character in purple w/ crossbow" very, very little was carried over from the pre-Crisis character to the post.
- The proposed merge isn't a merge in the conventional sense. There is little to no overlap in the article. That would make it a request to "insert wholesale".
- The proposed direction of the merge is either arbitrary or POV weighted. Moving in either direction is a POV push as to which character is "more important".

- They possibly could merge, however. New DC continuity has retroactively made Bertinelli into Wayne, and in other media they typically combine the two. Bertinelli was brought in as an unconfusing way to keep a well-liked character around, but due to the fact that they never really coexist in parallel and have one single, shared Real World history, I think Huntress (comics) might be a better place to discuss both.Zythe (talk) 15:16, 2 March 2013 (UTC)
- I think an astute comparison would be the "different" versions of Black Canary...Zythe (talk) 20:56, 6 March 2013 (UTC)

The current picture
[edit]I believe there are much better, much more indicative pictures of Helena that is not her crotch...I just figured out we have the cover of Birds of Prey #123 in the article that would be much, much better. I would switch the pics but I do not know how. Lots42 (talk) 16:00, 25 November 2016 (UTC)
Updating
[edit]I was thinking that it can be better if we could use her New 52/Rebirth's pictures instead. She is drawn very similarly to the character, Helena Wayne, and her new look was explained by Seeley himself that it was to differentiated the both of them visually. So I recommend the usage of one of the Rebirth Birds of Prey cover in which she is currently Huntress but with a new look that is sure to differentiate from Helena Wayne and herself. And hopefully, update her intro to explain some of the New 52/Rebirth changes since it's outdated and doesn't reflect it. JayAaerow (talk)
EDIT: The picture is already used in the article. maybe this would do too. JayAaerow (talk)
The "in other media" section of Huntress (Helena Bertinelli) says:
> The Helena Bertinelli version of Huntress appears in the Arrow live-action television series, played by Jessica De Gouw.
However, "Huntress" and "Bertinelli" don't appear in the "characters" section of Arrow (TV series).
This seems inconsistent. I don't know which is correct nor how it ought to be fixed, so I'm just flagging this. Crossposted to both talk pages. — Sai ¿?✍ 11:43, 18 February 2020 (UTC)

- Have wikilinked to the Arrowverse version, and added detail in leading sentence of paragraph that the character was a guest in seasons one and two of Arrow. AutumnKing (talk) 12:20, 18 February 2020 (UTC)
