Split this article?

[edit]

I think of "Humewood" and "Cedarvale" as two separate neighbourhoods and that this article should be split into two separate ones. Indeed, a lot of this article seems to be devoted to discussing the differences between Humewood and Cedarvale and it would read better if it were two articles.

It has been a long time since I have lived in Toronto, but I assume that people would agree that these are distinct neighbourhoods.

I am unsure technically what the best way to split an article is. I was planning on renaming this article to "Cedarvale", removing the stuff about "Humewood", and putting that into a new article. Is there a better way to do this? Nicksh 19:01, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There are similarities between the neighbourhoods. For example, both Humewood and Cedarvale have similar demographics, such as having large Jewish and Filipino populations, and mainly upper class neighbourhoods. Additionally, the City of Toronto recognizes Humewood and Cedarvale as one neighbourhood rather than two, according to the source. Johnny Au 20:59, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You don't know Cedarvale as there are no Filipinos in Cedarvale. You think they can afford a house for 2 million dollars? 76.65.21.144 (talk) 21:11, 10 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Cedarvale north of the ravine is Jewish south of it not so much. And sorry Filipinos are not a big chunk of the population here. It is mostly English Canadian, Italian and some Greeks and Ukranians and Hungarians closer to St Clair. I know because I grew up here and still live here (50+ years). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.26.142.23 (talk) 04:40, 17 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
