Schematics
[edit]It’s been 11 years since a person on this page requested a schematic. Maybe it’s time to find a freely licensed one or make one? Gutten på Hemsen (talk) 16:14, 3 October 2021 (UTC)
- Great idea, please go ahead and do that. 2001:9E8:4609:FC00:64D9:3F2C:2A:AF4F (talk) 19:56, 27 October 2024 (UTC)
'Stacked Coils' Section
[edit]This section, as currently written, has a major tone shift. The preceeding and following sections have reasonable comparisons and examples of humbucker construction; but this section resolves to insult the construction method and the many pickup makers that have used it, calling them "crude stacks."
I think a section on a stacked-coil humbucker is well-deserved -- it's one of the oldest pickup designs and still an extremely common and pervasive one -- but what we've got here is super inadequate. It pushes aside simple comparison in order to go on what appears to be a bad-faith screed. Cassie is Asleep (talk) 07:51, 19 September 2023 (UTC)
- Update -- This was vandalism. Found a revision on 9th January 2022 that did all of this. Undone. Cassie is Asleep (talk) 08:07, 19 September 2023 (UTC)
Misunderstanding about noise cancellation
[edit]In the "function" section, we can read that the noise is canceled thanks to phase shift. From what I've read elsewhere about humbuckers, its seems to be rather a phase inversion (caused by the second coil being wound in the opposite direction), different from phase shift that could'nt cancel all the possible hum frequencies.
Can anyone confirm ? S0ngxist0 (talk) 01:02, 25 December 2024 (UTC)
