Local newspapers
[edit]"firstly, the Cyprus Mail is a local paper, secondly it is a propaganda mouthpiece of the British and Turkish governments, thirdly and most importantly it is not a reliable source to quote" What on earth can you rely this on? Cyprus Mail is the most reliable newspaper in English in Cyprus. quoted out of context, you have not disclosed that these are unsubstantiated allegations, as per the other quote, your selection is not just based on POV, it is fraud Quite against the policies, if you think that the article is not neutral, you can add other quotes to neutralise it. Please stop vandalising the article. --Seksen iki yüz kırk beş (talk) 12:31, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
- Are you saying that I can use quotes from newspapers in the Republic of Cyprus as reliable sources? Is that acceptable to you? Please say yes. Nipsonanomhmata (Talk) 14:19, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
- If they are talking about violations to Turkish Cypriots, yes, since it is a bit like confession (although they might try to show the scale of the events a bit smaller), but if it is about violations by Turkish Cypriots, no, it is as wrong as using Turkish Cypriot newspapers for violations by Greek Cypriots. --Seksen iki yüz kırk beş (talk) 17:08, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
- And if Turkish Cypriot newspapers are talking about violations to Greek Cypriots, they are also a bit like confession, so they are acceptable. --Seksen iki yüz kırk beş (talk) 17:09, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
- You said it. Nipsonanomhmata (Talk) 18:14, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
- The problem here is that if a newspaper source is considered good enough to be included it is unlikely that other editors will allow anyone to be selective about what content they use. i.e. either the source is good enough or it isn't. Nipsonanomhmata (Talk) 09:12, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
