Question: regarding his foray into politics, the page on Chicago Mayor Richard Daley states that he was first elected in 1955, but this article says that Rodham ran for alderman in 1947 during Daley's reign.

@Alan B25: Thanks for bringing this up. Daley did have a big influence in Chicago machine politics in the years prior to his becoming mayor, and also the machine existed well before Daley came on the scene. But according to the Cohen and Taylor 2000 biography American Pharaoh, as of 1947 Daley's machine power was mostly in terms of the 11th Ward. And Rodham ran in the 49th Ward. So I've reworded the article text to replace Daley with a more generic reference to the Cook County Democratic machine, and I've also added some more details about the 1947 election.
