Cotangent?

Is there any good reason to divide by the cotangent, instead of multiplying by the tangent? I mean, yes they are trivially the same, but for the sake of simplicity both multiplication and avoiding the reciprocal trigonometric function are good ideas. 79.138.205.160 (talk) 20:18, 3 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
