Deletion

[edit]

I know nothing about this series of books. I found the article and was adding some tags when it was magically deleted about 10 seconds after a speedy tag was put on it (I never even saw the speedy). Someone else put a prod on it about 1 or 2 hours after I recreated the article. I am only trying to restore what the new editor started. I would ask that since it IS a true series of book, that you give a couple of days before trying to AFD, since this isn't the only thing I am working on. I don't have a stake in this article, per se, but someone did bother to TRY to start it. PHARMBOY (TALK) 01:06, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, part of a CSD is speedy :P A single sentence doesn't say much about the book (and really isn't an effort per se). The one sentence here gives no real context or content, hence I'd suspect an admin deleting it (which I personally agree with). Its some books by an unnotable author. And? That's the question of "context?" If you want to spend some time working on it, more power to you. I think, however, that since this is a series of books, not a single book, it should probably just be titled How I Survived Middle School without the need for disambiguation. If you are going to actively edit, BTW, may want to use {{inuse}} instead of {{under construction}}. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 01:15, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
we are talking seconds from tag to delete. I have been here over 2 years with thousands of edits, I'm telling you that it is rare to see it that fast. Either way, the only reason I recreated was because I feel that the original person created it in good faith and it appears the series is at least mildly notable. The author has 3 NYT best sellers, but no article here yet, so she is surely notable per the best sellers. I've done my part. I'm an old fart whose expertise lies in technical issues, not children's literature (I don't even have kids). If I get the time, I may put up a short stubby article on the author, which shouldn't be that hard. PHARMBOY (TALK) 02:10, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
True, except for vandalism it usually takes longer. Heck, Hagger's constant move vandalism usually takes longer to delete too. :P It seems like it should have some notability with the references you added, so I'll see if I can't expand it some over time, using some other series articles as a guide. For now, I just made a few minor format changes until I can spend more time on it. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 02:26, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
