Restructuring
[edit]I'm currently restructuring the article and removing extraneous information, much of which is from 2009 or earlier and thus out of date. Over the next couple of days I'll be removing information that reads like a directory or is generally too specific (we do not need employment numbers for every company). I'll also be getting rid of external links from the education section and adding a history section to describe the general development of the area. Boundaries of the Energy Corridor
[edit]Regarding a recent edit which redefined the southern boundary of the Energy Corridor as the Westpark Tollway, I have found no available sources indicating this is the case. The Energy Corridor District itself extends only as far southward as Briar Forest Drive (see here) and, as shown in the map on that page, the District recognizes a general neighborhood known as the "Energy Corridor" which includes some residential areas adjacent to the special district.
The Energy Corridor as defined by Google on Google Maps also extends only as far south as Briar Forest.
I don't think we should consider the presence of the Shell Research Center on Highway 6 as evidence of the Energy Corridor extending to Westpark; there are plenty of energy campuses which are slightly outside the Corridor's boundaries, and the Corridor does not have to encompass all of them. We should stick to boundaries from reliable sources (WP:RS).
Edit: this article from the Houston Chronicle describes the Energy Corridor as "a seven-mile strip along I-10 from Kirkwood to west of Barker Cypress that also includes property south of the freeway along Eld-ridge." LithiumAneurysm (talk) 16:30, 27 March 2017 (UTC)
