Page

[edit]

I decided to create this page after I saw someone had made an empty wikilink to Hot Doug's on Charlie Trotter's page regarding the foie gras debate. I'm checking to see when that ref was put in. Jjacobsmeyer 08:57, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The bit was submitted by Louisa Chu, and it's her only edit, so I understand why this article might be considered unworty of keeping. But I've seen other short articles in the Chicago cuisine category such as Moo & Oink and Tastee Hastee (which has been closed for over a decade). Could anyone help me as to what parts of the article need to improve? Feel free to respond here or on my talk page. Jjacobsmeyer 09:04, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Also, I just found a story from Australia's ABC reporting on the foie gras incident. I've also found numerous references to Hot Doug's on major television and newspaper websites - available on request. Jjacobsmeyer 09:12, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • I've added some references to media coverage and awards won by Hot Doug's. Hopefully these will show notability, and stave off any deletion attempts so we can continue to improve the article. - BierHerr 15:58, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think the article is of higher importance due to the fact that the foie gras ban repeal has received international coverage (I saw it on the BBC website). When something is in the news, people start looking for information. I believe the duck fat fried french fries are only available on Saturdays. I can't go and confirm (thus, didn't edit the article) since I'm in Hyderabad India.Librarian1968 (talk) 09:32, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Photos

[edit]

Also, I should be able to make it to Hot Doug's by the end of the week to get some photos - some of the crowd, as well as some of the awards on the wall. Jjacobsmeyer 21:04, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • The photo shown in the Zagat interview listed under the External Links section is a nice angle, I think... of course the sign plus the crowd winding around the block would be cool too. And don't forget a shot of a Chicago Dog! - BierHerr 21:26, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Best fries?

[edit]

Accoring to Anthony Bourdain on Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations, the duck fat fries are the king of fries. (ref: The episode the features Chicago and Hot Doug's) 76.66.203.102 (talk) 04:55, 2 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
