Etymology wrong
[edit]"Hordley takes its name from the Hoord Family of whom Henry de Hoord (c.1170) is the first recorded member." It must be the other way round, as it is called Hordelei in Domesday. The manor was given by Odo to Shrewsbury Abbey, (cf Eyton, vol 10) which let it to a family who became known as de Hordley. Sjwells53 (talk) 13:20, 15 March 2016 (UTC)

[edit]"On one day there is a post office set up in the village hall."
