Ancestry

The ancestry chart at the bottom of the page seems to show that Nelson's mother was the great-granddaughter of Walpole, not his grand-niece. Can this be fixed?

Automatic Talk Page Archiving

Unless there are any contrary comments, I propose to set up automatic Talk Page archiving for this page in the next week or so. Dabbler (talk) 13:14, 27 July 2011 (UTC)

"1805 Poster"

I've boldly removed the image supposedly of a poster commemorating Nelson's victory. Close inspection of the fonts and layout of the poster shows that it is not like 1805, but it is very much like fake olde posters produced for tourists from the 1960's. Glynhughes (talk) 05:38, 21 April 2013 (UTC)

Error in 'Hunting the French'

I'm not confident enough of my own Wikipedia editing skills to fix this myself, but the first few sentences of the section 'Hunting the French' are factually incorrect, as proved by an examination of The Letters and Dispatches of Viscount Horatio Nelson.

The storm which Nelson was involved in (which nearly destroyed the Vanguard, his flagship) occurred in the Western Mediterranean after Nelson's squadron was at station off Toulon trying to detect the departure of Napoleon's fleet, and not 'on his way to Gibraltar'. I also don't believe that it is correct that word of Napoleon's departure reached the Earl of St. Vincent before Nelson was dispatched. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Drgrigg (talkcontribs) 23:54, 5 August 2012 (UTC)
