[edit]Anti-Gay comments
[edit]What happened to the bit and source discussing his anti-Gay comments? Surely this is a notable aspect of his campaign??? Candleabracadabra (talk) 14:54, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
- Deleted without explanation on 9 April by an IP. I've restored it as it was one of the few things about the campaign to make international news. Rd232 talk 15:54, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
- The detail of Cartes' statement was expunged by Candleabracadabra, for reasons I cannot fathom. His/her revision makes the article look prissy, so I have reverted it. Harfarhs (talk) 14:22, 12 June 2013 (UTC)
- The reasons were explained quite succinctly in my edit summary. I find the detail excessive and inappropriate. Why aren't any of his other comments included that specifically in the article? In my opinion it's enough to say he made homophobic or anti-gay comments during the campaign and leave it at that. The article source is linked and people wanting to know more cna certainly avail themselves of the source. I don't see what encyclopedic usefulness the monkey bit or shooting his son in the testicles adds. But if others disagree and there's a consensus to include that kind of salacious detail then so be it. Candleabracadabra (talk) 19:17, 13 June 2013 (UTC)
