Contested deletion

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... everything is currently cited within the article. I will gladly add more sources as well as an infobox to expand the article more. Andise1 (talk) 05:05, 19 February 2018 (UTC)

Hi @Andise1:. The problem with the article isn't necessarily the citations or the lack of content, but the fact that nothing in the article makes a claim as to why this group is notable. Therefore, it is eligible for speedy deletion under one of Wikipedia's criteria (WP:A7). I would recommend you add to the article to make the case why this band is notable and therefore deserving of a page in an encyclopedia. Thanks. Enwebb (talk) 05:12, 19 February 2018 (UTC)

Sure, they are signed to a notable record label (now shown in the article), have received quite a bit of press for their music (also shown in the article, and more will be added). I think rather than deleting the article, when many sources are out there, the article should be expanded upon (which is what I am currently doing). Andise1 (talk) 05:18, 19 February 2018 (UTC)

Awesome, I'm glad you're adding to the article so that it no longer meets WP:A7. Bands can be nominated for speedy deletion if they lack any credible claim of significance or importance, so it will no longer qualify for deletion under A7 once that information is there. If you would not mind, could you remove the speedy deletion tag? The band has charted on the Billboard Charts (which is now included in the article) and the article is being expanded. Andise1 (talk) 05:32, 19 February 2018 (UTC)
