Reviews

[edit]

The "critical acclaim" listed here is pretty pathetic; just a bunch of "Best Of" list citations. Not one credible review in the lot. There have to be some real reviews out there w/more substance than these lists, no?Cloonmore 23:24, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OK, improve it then. There are several listed in the infobox under "professional reviews" that have not been employed yet. Can we find some way to include Pond's comparison to similar influential albums, (Guy Clark's Old No. 1, Willie Nelson's Red Headed Stranger, and Terry Allen's Lubbock (On Everything))? My thinking was that someone interested in this article/album would also enjoy looking up the others.
You probably know more about the album than I do anyway. I decided to start the article having found it listed on Wikipedia:WikiProject Missing encyclopedic articles/List of notable albums. I found the CD from the library an dug around the net for everything that you see under "references". I'm happy to see you expand it and I apprecitate you adding the credits that I was unable to find. You could, however, find a more gentle way of pointing at that my work is "pathetic"--even if its true. :) -MrFizyx 15:24, 5 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, regarding your work on the credits--I was actually refering to your work on Joe Ely (album). -MrFizyx 16:02, 5 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hey Fizyx, I actually didn't know it was your work, but surely one who calls others' work "peacock" and "weirdness" can't be as thin-skinned as that? ;) Anyhow, I'm happy to give it a go when I get around to looking for reviews. There have to be some. All those "Best Of" lists are dubious anyway and not consistent w/Wikipedia guidelines. I like your idea of trying to retain somehow Pond's comparisons and will take a crack at it. But did you really go to the library to get this album just to write this entry?! I'm impressed, if a little puzzled, but I hope you at least gave it a listen while you were at it! Cloonmore 01:56, 6 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
