Proposed merge of HKTVMall into HKTV

[edit]

Documentary of a subsidiary that isn't otherwise notable. A redirect and a sentence in HKTV about this project would serve. FalconK (talk) 01:39, 5 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support. the mall fails WP:NCORP and it can be easily mentioned and expand the content here, the HKTV article. Note that City Telecom (Hong Kong) already exist and don't worry about too long to mention the company's past as telecom company. The past as TV program producer also short lived and the article size of this article has room to mention that also . Matthew hk (talk) 09:47, 5 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Disagree. I disagree with this merger. First, the history of HKTV Network ("the Group") is extensive; it traces back to 1992 when it was founded as City Telecom, before trying to become a TV station in 2013 under HKTV. They continued to attempt to create content and become a TV station despite starting HKTV Mall as a subsidiary in 2015, and only gave up TV aspirations in 2018. Secondly, while a major part of the Group, HKTV Mall is just a subsidiary, there are other brands under the Group such as HoKoBuy, Ricky Wong has recently announced a new line of business under the Group (providing web services to companies, sort of like Amazon Web Services), which are all subsidiaries under the Group - just like HKTV Mall, albeit smaller. The Group is clearly trying to diversify and will have a number of subsidiaries in the future; these small subsidiaries may be added onto the Group's Wikipedia page, but HKTV Mall has grown large enough since being founded in 2015 to warrant its own page. Closing, given the uncontested (after more than a year) objection with a reasoned argument. Klbrain (talk) 22:06, 23 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
