Official full name

[edit]

Re edits by user:Alanmak: [1] [2] [3] [4] - The full name of the territory is "Hong Kong Special Adminsitrative Region of the People's Republic of China". If anybody has got any evidence that its full name is indeed "Hong Kong Special Administrative Region", instead of the one mentioned above, please kindly present them for discussion. Thanks. The Hon Mr Justice Chan

[edit]

The hyperlink for this judge is incorrect - it links to the entry for Patrick Chan, a 16-year old Canadian figure skater. Presumably he's not the one and the same person sitting in the Court of Final Appeal in Hong Kong! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 81.234.25.115 (talk) 21:36, 12 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Retirement Age

[edit]

I have added dates of birth and ages from the articles on individual permanent judges (the only one missing this information is Mr Justice Ribeiro). The info box mentions a retirement age for these judges but doesn't say what it is. The article on Mr Justice Bokhary suggests it's 65, but two of the current incumbents are older than this, so that can't be an absolute cut-off point. Does anybody know? 2A02:8010:6087:0:381A:988F:6000:3FB7 (talk) 11:21, 22 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Kemal Bokhary

[edit]

Does anyone have any educational information on him? I am not sure the Inns of Court School of Law citation is correct. Can it be verified?

Article 92 of the Basic Law

[edit]

Hello Wiki community. With the recent resignation of the Australian judge James Spigelman from the Hong Kong Court of Final appeal, I wanted to research more about how HK utilizes judges from other common-law jurisdictions, so I came to this page. Article 92 of the basic law is said in this page to discuss this, but upon checking the Basic Law PDF provided by the Gov of HK, A92 only discusses the State's interaction with the National People's Congress, and has nothing to do with the Judiciary. Is this a mistake?

Article name

[edit]

Since the name of the court is "Hong Kong Court of Final Appeal", can we change the article name to that instead? 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazone (talk) 17:00, 2 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Proposal to split the list of PJs and NPJs into a separate article

[edit]

The two sections that list the current and former judges on the CFA are quite long and make up around half of the article. While it's definitely important, I feel that the article should mostly contain substantive information about the court itself, and lists of this type should be contained in a separate page. For reference, the articles for the UKSC and SCOTUS both have separate articles for lists of judges who have sat on the court. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dontbuyapple (talkcontribs) 13:28, 20 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
