Correct name

[edit]

I believe the article should be moved to "Homesick James". When he signed the picture of him in my copy of the World of Blues book (in London, around 1996), Homesick specifically pointed out that the caption "Homesick James Williamson" was wrong, and that it should have been just "Homesick James". Currently the article states that his real full name was both James A. Williamson and John William Henderson ! Which is correct, and what citation(s) can be added to prove the point ? Derek R Bullamore 18:52, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hopefully resolved now, to the best of my limited knowledge ! Ghmyrtle 09:50, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This article does not list a last name for Mr. James. The wikipedia article on Elmore James refers to "Homesick James Williamson" with link to this (Homesick James) article. (Confusing enough?) What is the real name of Homesick James? It should be in this article. Thanks, user:cliffradz Cliffradz (talk) 23:41, 24 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Eagle and LeBlanc - here - state that his birth name was James Williams, but he used the names James Williamson and William Henderson. Ghmyrtle (talk) 15:20, 11 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Band with Snooky Pryor & Baby Face Leroy

[edit]

I don't think the sentence implying that Homesick was working with Pryor and Foster in the early 30s is correct. I've checked the source cited and it does seem to say this, but other sources suggest that Pryor (b. 1921) was not active in Chicago until after his discharge from the army in the 1940s (although he did "sit in" with Homesick and Sonny Boy Williamson while stationed near Chicago after his service overseas in the 40s), and Foster (b. 1923) wasn't active in Chicago until the mid 40s. Rowe[1] dates the band with Snooky and Baby Face (and Lazy Bill Lucas on piano) to the early 50s, after Foster left Muddy Waters. Brunton (talk) 07:47, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No mention of him recording with st louis jimmy oden in the 60s? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.6.200.49 (talk) 18:05, 18 July 2011 (UTC) i changed the date of publication of the album "Juanita": i own this album on CD and it was released in 1994, not 1997. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.98.152.172 (talk) 16:03, 28 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
