Notable organs

[edit]

I believe a discussion about what constitutes a "notable" organ is in order. Russbird17 is clearly an enthusiast regarding this company's organs, and has added extensive information about various organs and their available registrations, expanding the article from 2,735 bytes in early September to over 60Kbytes today. However, there is no criterion given for what constitutes a "notable" organ, and, indeed, the added content seems arbitrary and excessive. A skimming review of other companies in Category:Pipe organ building companies shows that they generally do not include the full specification of voicings available. Instead, a list format, including possible number of manuals and number of pipes, would suffice. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 15:50, 19 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Russbird17: I'd ask you to weigh in on this topic, please. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 17:12, 19 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Russbird17 and @WikiDan61, even though this topic I'm not familiar with, I did run the Rater assessment tool & ORES prediction suggests a Class-B rating. So, I removed the article's stub tags, then updated from Class-Stub to Class-C for now. Yes, I agree the article does have a lot of details, and may need a better Context for the encyclopedia reader. I added a "See also" section with wikilink to organ builder list, and a few minor wikilinks. Regards, JoeNMLC (talk) 23:16, 30 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Russbird17 and JoeNMLC: In keeping with the format and content of other organ manufacturer articles (and WP:NOTINDISCRIMINATE), I have removed the extensive tables of organ specifications, leaving the names, dates, locations and images of the organs. @WikiDan61 - Thanks, good work, nicely done. Cheers! JoeNMLC (talk) 20:42, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
