  2. It should make use of sections, using Wikipedia:WikiProject UK geography/How to write about settlements as a guide.

Fisons at Holmes Chapel

[edit]

Anyone know how long Fisons were present at Holmes Chapel? I can't remember when they closed. Might be worth a mention as a former major employer. The Roman Candle (talk) 23:18, 28 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bengers moved to HC in 1939, were bought by Fisons in 1947, Fisons were bought by Rhone-Poulenc in 1995, the site closed in 2005 and it is now proposed to build 231 houses on it.Le Deluge (talk) 02:51, 21 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Village or town?

[edit]

Is HC really a village? I know it's a moveable feast but just looking at it I'd have called it a small town, and things like a population of >5000, a (former) major factory, and being able to support a secondary school would add weight to that.Le Deluge (talk) 02:51, 21 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

HC is a big village but there are much bigger ones, e.g Kidlington. --Ef80 (talk) 13:35, 1 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

One Direction: Harry Styles

[edit]

I've deleted the 1D's member, Harry Styles, for two fundamental reasons: he hasn't got a OWN voice and he is NOT encyclopaedic ACCORDING to Wiki's guidelines. He's ALREADY CITED in the band's page. Please respect the rules. --151.26.81.194 (talk) 09:33, 19 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Partial Protection

[edit]

Given the recent spate of disrupting edits, I've partially protected the article for 2 days. I hope that helps to encourage those who seem to be doing the disruption to give up.  DDStretch  (talk) 14:00, 3 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
