this article is false, there is no hollywood in memphis.

That's actually incorrect. I googled it, and I came up with the following website: http://www.commercialappeal.com/mca/opinion_columnists/article/0,1426,MCA_539_3614672,00.html. This appears to corroborate this article, although in much more depth. I agree with this being a potential stub article, assuming anyone is interested in expanding it.--Alan 04:41, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
my mistake thenBarcode 05:08, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
That's cool. I had to google it a couple of different ways to find any info about it.--Alan 03:58, 27 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Don't forget to sign your posts and nice find. I added the link to the article--Paul E. Ester 05:35, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
you're obviously a very sheltered memphian if you didn't know hollywood/hyde park existed....
[edit]

I removed the following from the article:

"It is considered one of the poorest neighborhoods in the city and is known for it's (sic!) high crime."

"This particular section of North Memphis is dominated by the People Nation including: 4 Corner Hustlers,Vice Lords, and Bloods. [citation needed]"

The information is not founded and harmful for the credibility of the article and of Wikipedia. A certain level of poverty, unfortunately, can be found in any bigger city, this is true as well for a certain level of crime and gangs. Not much worth mentioning that. Everyone knows it and believes it.

For a statement about extremes, "one of the poorest" or "known for it's (sic!) high crime" the burden of proof is much higher to claim inclusion in an encyclopedia.

Recently, there have been quite a few additions of gang names and activities in Memphis related articles (Nutbush, Memphis and North Memphis). Wikipedia is certainly not the correct platform to develop a map of gang territories.

Agree 100%! Looks like this page will require continuous patrolling.

"The Park"?

[edit]

If this neighborhood is sometimes referred to as The Park, was it formerly named Hollywood Park, or is this in reference to the Hyde Park neighborhood? Rags (talk) 10:51, 19 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
