- According to his obituary in the New York Times, he wasn’t. To quote the relevant section “ In the 1976 presidential campaign, Mr. Carter helped engineer a narrow victory in Mississippi for Jimmy Carter, who was no relation…” 12.239.13.147 (talk) 16:58, 19 May 2023 (UTC)
