Early Romantic Period versus Classical Period

[edit]

Is there any particular reason to refer to the Classical period as the Early Romantic period? I have never heard the term Early Romantic before whether in Wikipedia's European classical music, music history classes, or the main texts on the history of the guitar. Any information on this? Thanks. --Amazzing5 16:02, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Man. this article is HORRIBLE. It is a disgrace to Wikipedia and to to the rich history of the guitar. I don't think I've ever seen a subject as important as this receive such incomplete, disorganized and half-hearted treatment as this. I don't have the time to go through the whole article now and reformat it and correct inaccuracies; I hope soon I will be able to make at least some improvements. 88/rosette/88 01:14, 27 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

He's right. I tried to fix the horizontal line that insists on going through the picture, with no success. Somebody good at formatting, please? The Real Walrus (talk) 12:12, 2 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Article's Condition

[edit]

Could this article be reversed to its original form? I've been trying to clean it up but much content has been removed instead of altered.

Terrible.

Breathtakingly terrible article. Amazing. --jpgordon::==( o ) 17:58, 8 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

November 2012 cleanup

[edit]

Mainly removing content duplicated in guitar and classical guitar. Genres featuring classical guitars are covered in the baroque, renaissance, etc articles, so this article should focus on the instrument itself. Still desperately needs more references. It desperately needs more content, never mind the references. As it is, the thing serves no purpose, and should be deleted altogether. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MarvinLuse (talkcontribs) 12:59, 13 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Somebody else needs to write this article

[edit]

This is an awful article, absolutely awful. Why not find a credentialed historian with knowledge of the subject and have him or her write it? Awful, just awful. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MarvinLuse (talkcontribs) 12:57, 13 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Can't we add a photo of a Renaissance guitar (or any photo, for that matter) to this article, in order to help make it more properly encyclopedic? 98.123.38.211 (talk) 23:01, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
