I think than the external link which is already in this article:

is also not allowed.

At least The Compleat Ebro Angler has something to do with history, because of the link with Izaak Walton's Complet Angler.

No source indicating fishing 70,000 years ago

The first line of this article indicates that fishing began “at least 70,000 years ago” and cites no source. Later it says it began “At least 40,000 years ago.” There are 3 different sources cited to back this up, which all make sense. A little research shows that the earliest evidence of fishing is indeed about 40,000 years old. Here is another source indicating the earliest evidence is from 42,000 years ago which may also be worth adding to the article.

I suggest the first line be revised to say “Fishing is a prehistoric practice dating back at least 42,000 years.” This would better reflect the sources provided, as well as what seems to be the scientific consensus. Kelsomatic (talk) 02:45, 16 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
