Liberation

[edit]
Bucharesters greet the Red Army liberating the city on 31 August 1944.

I dispute the word "liberation":

Bucharest was already in the hands of the pro-Allies forces when the Soviets came, so it was not a "liberation". A liberation is only when the control of an area changes and that happened a week before, without the help of the Red Army.

The Red Army came in as an ally, that's why it was greeted, but in only a few months, the "friendly" Soviet ally turned into an oppressive occupier. bogdan 11:05, 18 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree... Who greeted the Russian? Renebach (talk) 11:39, 9 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

"Premeses"

[edit]

Not sure what this means to say. Not an English word to the best of my knowledge, and the only similar English word I can think of, "premises", makes no sense here. - Jmabel | Talk 22:57, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I doubt there ever was a "mass transit system using rail cars that are propelled by a continuously moving cable running at a constant speed" in Bucharest.Axi 17:25, 6 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You're right. Replaced with Trolley pole, cause I guess that is accurate. Dahn 17:41, 6 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Access project discussion

[edit]

I did not see a link to go to the project group page or whatever. Nor could i get on said page from the talk page. We need to document the history of the buildings still standing (the Palace, the buildings around Blvd Unirii and the Piata Constitutie...) Renebach (talk) 11:46, 9 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
