Fair use rationale for Image:B7 Logo2.jpg

[edit]

Image:B7 Logo2.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Began editing =

[edit]

I've begun editing text here, trying to condense and remove irrelevent text. Some text is hidden with HTML tags that i've marked. I'll keep a log of the major changes here:

  • Moved Contents panel to appear on access.
  • Hid some previous header text with HTML Tags - I may want this later!
  • Begin trawling through the mess.
  • Hid irrelevent Terry Nation info as there is a seperate page for this author.
  • Began tidying up the new 'first' paragraph.
  • Began editing the 'Season One' text.
  • Hid some text on David Maloney as there's already a page for him.
  • Ditto with Chris Boucher.
  • Tidied the scripting and casting paragraph.
  • Divided text into 'Script and Character alterations' and 'Casting the characters' sub-sections.

  • Continued editing 'Casting the characters', condensing text. Considering re-naming this subsection to 'Casting'.
  • Created new subsection - 'filming begins'.
  • Removed irrelevant text about Dudley Simpson - a page already exists.
  • Created new subsection - 'production problems'. Moved relevant blacks of text to this subsection.
  • Completed initial editing of this section.

81.131.24.159 (talk) 04:11, 26 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Began editing 'Season B' section.
  • Split the text up into 'Planning', 'Writing' and 'Directors', 'Filmimng' and 'Broadcast' sections - condensing text as necessary.
  • Completed intial editing of this section - I want to return later.

81.131.61.109 (talk) 02:59, 28 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Re-commenced editing - began dividing up Season C section
  • Created subsections: 'Planning Season C', 'Storyline ideas', 'New Characters', 'Writers', 'Recording of Season C' and 'Broadcast of Season C'.
  • Removed info on Josette Simon as she already has a page.
  • Condensed text as necessary.

You're doing a fine job, why not create an account rather than use different IP addresses each time? Stephenb (Talk) 08:10, 30 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Done - i've never editied articles on this scale, so hadn't done so before. Thanks :-)

  • Began editing 'Season D' - might move the 'Bill Cotton' story to Season C later.
  • Created sub-sections 'Season D Directors', 'Story Ideas', 'Writing season D', 'Sets and Models', 'Character Changes', 'Filming Season D' , 'Guest Actors', 'The Final Episode' and 'Season D Broadcast'.
  • Consolidated disparate text into the appropriate subsections.
  • Removed superfluous text about model-maker Ron Thornton.
  • Condensed, edited and removed text as appropriate. Added references where needed; tried to keep references with moved text.
  • Completed initial editing of this page.

The image Image:B7 Cast A.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

The following images also have this problem:

Splitting this article off into separate seasons

[edit]

There doesn't seem to be a B7 project for Wikipedia, so I'll ask directly here. Would anyone else think that there might be benefit from splitting this one article up into a separate article for each season, as other shows such as Lost and Battlestar Galactica have? It would allow for expansion and more friendly formatting (such as infoboxes, episode lists etc) to compliment the information here. WikiuserNI (talk) 09:45, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Why not it makes sense. You'd still have the summary of each season here. Shout if you want help. GraemeLeggett (talk) 11:32, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
As per my talk page, I'm in favour but care may be needed to avoid losing references specified in <ref name="example"> format. Let me know if you want a copy-edit or clean-up. Good luck, Baffle gab1978 (talk) 18:36, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Is it best to effectively merge season content from this with content from List of Blake's 7 episodes. Those ghastly coloured tables in the episode list could be replaced with {{Infobox television episode}}....GraemeLeggett (talk) 19:00, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

'Season(s)' to 'series'

[edit]

Hi all. In the main article, 'series' has been standardised for at least a year now, so I'm going to change this article to reflect that; specifically changing 'season(s)' to 'series' and denoting each series with a number rather than a letter - so 'season B' becomes 'Series 2'. Since 'series' is more commonly used than 'season(s)' in British TV articles, I think this article ought to be consistent with the main one. Unless there's a argument or consensus against the change I'll go ahead in a week or so, unless RL intervenes. Cheers, Baffle gab1978 (talk) 19:21, 22 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
