Historic vs. historical[edit]
Somewhere I recall seeing a a distinction between these two terms, but forgot which was which. In light of what this article says, it would seem that an historic site, building, etc. is one associated with some historic event whereas an historical site etc. is one whic dates to the past and may exhibit characteristics of that period but is not associated with some historic event. Appomattox Courthouse is an historic building whereas the local county courthouse might well be an historical building but not necessarily an historic one. Is this correct?
