Merge

I agree with this merge, clearly the same topic. --babbage 15:29, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unquestioned?

[edit]

It is interesting that someone (and I can't imagine who, probably someone from city government), has written such a gigantic article about a big zero. Prior to the city putting this ridiculous name on this area that isn't even a district, just a crime-ridden wasteland to the north of MacArthur Heroin Park, no one in Los Angeles would have associated this area with Filipinos. To add the word "Historic" to it just makes it more laughable. It is like "World Famous" in front of some unknown restaurant's hot dog or chili, nonsense.

There is no part of this article that puts this into any reasonable perspective. There are more people in this neighborhood from Honduras! The Hondurans are minor minorities to the Guatemalans, Salvadorans, and Mexicans. Calling it Historic Filipinotown makes about as much sense as calling it Rockefeller Center or the birthplace of Bob Hope.--208.127.100.147 (talk) 08:03, 30 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
