I am fairly new to editing Wikipedia, so any advice / suggestions on the article are welcome. For example, I haven't put all the entries in the table as links - should that be changed? (the names of all the solvents and polymers) Stainless316 (talk) 14:23, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have a fair amount of experience with polymer analysis by GPC (Gel Permeation Chromatography) and was looking for nylon solubility alternatives when I found this entry. I am not sure what molecular weight limit applies to the use of the Hildebrand solubility parameter, but I can tell you that nylon polymer does not dissolve in ethanol -- it dissolves in HFIP at room temp or in m-cresol at 100C or higher. Polyethylene does not dissolve in anything at room temperature. We normally use trichloro- or ortho-dichloro-benzene at 130-140C. The theory here is interesting but the particular examples might be using Hildebrand parameters that are viable for small oligomers rather than typical polymers. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.25.240.225 (talk) 19:19, 30 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
