Hester Prynne
[edit]I wonder, should Hester Prynne be given more prominence here?
In The Music Man number The Sadder-But-Wiser Girl, Harold Hill sings I hope, and I pray, for a Hester to win just one more "A", the final, bawdiest and arguably most memorable line of the song, and one which was presumably understood by audiences of 1957. The Scarlet Letter was published in 1850, so it was hardly a recent work at the time.
It seems to me that many may search here for Hester to find out what this means, and currently they would have great difficulty finding this information. How can we do better? Andrewa (talk) 18:08, 13 August 2014 (UTC)
