The main criticism was he had a poor game. Booked Czech Milan player unnecessarily. He was too authoritative. I believe he saw himself as the 23rd player on the pitch. His timekeeping was also a major mistake. He didn't influence the result, he just didn't referee in a manner that we expect from a top referee. Bring back Collina. He missed a booking on Agger in first half, otherwise he did a great job. Ended second half 15 seconds before announced time, but no major influence on the game. Good game from the referee. Rodvand 00:48, 26 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Neutrality unwarranted for CL final - fact. I guess the Roma - Utd game was tense. Londo06 11:25, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Controvesey section

[edit]

I toned it down a little and removed the stuff from the recent match until we can get reliable sources and not just reporting from folks who watched the match. thanks, --Tom 17:13, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There was also a substitution within that 15 secs plus that the ref didn't play. Londo06 07:58, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

... So? "The referee is the sole timekeeper". LoaF anyone? 194.81.199.60 (talk) 12:38, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I removed this section as the section refers to sending off of Paul Scholes for the second bookable offence which was not controversial at all. Can be added back if someone provides any reliable sources saying it was considered to be controversial etc. I also edited the stuff about the recent Sweden-Denmark match to remove the awarding of match to Sweden as it has to be done by UEFA and not the referee. Main article?

[edit]

For a section headed "Euro 2008 Qualifier: Denmark v. Sweden" (a match), how can the 'Main article' be "2008 UEFA qualifier fan attack" (one incident in a match)? That's wrong. Ref (chew)(do) 10:34, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
