I purpose to move this article from Henry Shaw (botanist) to either Henry Shaw (philanthropist) or Henry Shaw (businessman). While Shaw had an interest in plants and founded the Missouri Botanical Garden, I haven't seen any sources that suggest he was anything other than an amateur when it came to plants. He left true botany and science to his advisors and employees. His business endeavors and philanthropic work were much more defining in his life.
