[edit]I'm not going to alter the main page, but I'm 99% sure that this Henry Hastings was born at Lubbesthorpe in Leicestershire (a deserted Medieval settlement, the manor of which the family at that time owned). The parish register of Aylestone (of which Lubbesthorpe was a chapelry) at Leicestershire Record Office has the following entry:
Henry Hastinges son of George Hastinges, Esquire (baptised) at Lubsthorpe 15th June (1562)
The death of a Countess of Huntingdon is also noted in the sixteenth century register as is the baptism of a son of Walter Hastings. I wonder if "the pulpit of a disused neighbouring chapel" (as noted in the main article) is in fact that of Lubbesthorpe as it's chapel is noted as becoming disused during his lifetime.
