Identification?
[edit]Does anyone know whether this is the same Henry Beighton who is mentioned in our article on The Ladies' Diary as the successor to John Tipper? DS (talk) 14:35, 8 October 2011 (UTC)
Yes according to the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography "He edited the Ladies' Diary between 1714 and 1743 and used the journal as a vehicle to encourage women to study mathematics, as well as to publish his own meteorological records. He was helped in his editorial work by his wife, and a relative, probably his daughter, contributed to the journal."
