Expansion of article

[edit]

I added a few references as I was passing the article and expanded the early history of the street by a few lines. There are (more than) enough sources out there to develop the article - the Georgian era expansion of Dublin is amply recorded. I was thinking that sections on the early history (say up to 1800) and either one or two sections on the decline of the street post Act of Union through to the 20th Century and the recent restoration work would be appropriate.

I added a "citation needed" tag to the statement that the street was the model for Georgian Dublin, which seems a bit broad as a statement. In addition, while the street is regarded as the first major Georgian development in Dublin, it might not have been the first. But minor quibbles aside, there is scope for a few thousand more words here; not bad for a street that's only a hundred yards long.:) FlowerpotmaN·(t) 16:16, 20 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
