The Dewey train
[edit]A caboose labeled "Jim Crow" is unlikely to represent African-American rights. Roosevelt was an immensely popular figure among African-Americans and this associating of Dewey with Jim Crow (despite both parties' election year lip-service regarding civil rights) was likely meant to be a warning that his election would imperil even the modest gains of the New Deal era and the war years.--172.191.102.15 (talk) 18:52, 19 April 2012 (UTC)
