Correct cast list.

[edit]

@Magitroopa, Now I'm really confused about which cast list is the right one, is it the one from Showbizjunkies.com or from Goldderby.com, this is blowing my mind: 🤯🤯🤯. PartyD0ct0r32 (talk) 14:37, 25 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@PartyD0ct0r32: The only difference between them is that Showbiz Junkies lists 'Ashley' and GoldDerby lists 'Atoye'. Both appear to be correct, as per what appears to be their official website, which says, "Who is Ashley “Chef Atoye” Johnson?". Also worth noting that the official press release is available to look at here for confirmation on the official cast list.
I haven't been able to get to cleaning up this article just yet, but hopefully I will be able to get to that very soon before the season begins this week. The last names shouldn't even be listed until there is sources available that lists them. Magitroopa (talk) 17:30, 25 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Magitroopa. Do you have more info on Dahmere, Ryan, Mattias, and Tad's occupations besides Chef? PartyD0ct0r32 (talk) 14:14, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
All of what is currently listed is what the official press release gives and shouldn't be changed (specifically regarding their occupations and hometowns). Magitroopa (talk) 18:45, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
But the information I have on those chefs is confirmed via Sammi and Dahmere's Instagram Accounts, or through these articles: Tom's Guide: How to watch Hell's Kitchen Season 22 Live Stream -- premiere date and time. And TV Fanatic: Hell's Kitchen Promo: Contestants Live The American Dream in Season Premiere. How could what I found not be the right information on the contestants? Can we Bring back the red and blue color on the Elimination Page?

[edit]

Question, Can we Bring back the red and blue color for the red team and blue team on the Elimination Page?

It looks really boring and plain. Movieking134 (talk) 20:40, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

As has been mentioned in the past, the table changes were done in accordance with the Manual of Style on Wikipedia- specifically MOS:DTAB. I would also suggest you not revert any cleanup done on the article just because you don't like how something has been changed- as I've already said, your revert of all my cleanup edits is very disruptive and unhelpful, especially when it reintroduces unsourced information, overlinking, incorrect citations, and completely broken citations. Magitroopa (talk) 20:56, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Style like this is more unhelpful 90.181.20.16 (talk) 12:21, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Is there not an alternate method that would be applicable to MOS:DTAB?
I feel that removing the colours for the contestants in regards to the teams they were on is a hinderance that can become rather confusing, especially for those who may not be able to immediately recognize what teams they were on from an outsider's perspective. Shadowmario64fan (talk) 14:33, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Bgsu98- would there be any alternate method for this (or any comments on the discussion in general)? And just an FYI on why I'm pinging Bgsu here, they had originally done the MoS changes (such as...) and have been doing other changes for other shows' tables/articles to comply with MoS as well. Magitroopa (talk) 20:52, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Are the teams called "Red Team" and "Blue Team"? I'm genuinely curious. Bgsu98 (Talk) 20:55, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I cannot speak on behalf of every season, but usually, yes- [1] [2] [3] [4] I don't know if every season it has actually been called the R/B Team, but they've certainly been those two colored teams since the first season- watch around 13:40 in this video. Magitroopa (talk) 21:10, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have added a team column to both tables. You can format the background color and team name as appropriate. Bgsu98 (Talk) 22:16, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Bgsu98: I think what the main issue is/will be is that the teams are changed throughout the season- so maybe one person might be put on the other team, sometimes there might be large team swaps, etc. which is what leads to things like how the season 18 table currently is where someone never switched teams so they only have 1 color, whereas someone like Mia had multiple team changes throughout the season and has Red/Blue/Red/Black (and FYI- the black colors in the tables signify they got to the 'black jackets' part of the season where teams are no more and they are competing individually). Magitroopa (talk) 22:53, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That use of color on the season 18 table is absolutely non-compliant and was eliminated from all of the Survivor tables. You could do something similar to the Survivor contestants table. Bgsu98 (Talk) 23:09, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Season 22 needs more help on the multiple color jackets on the contestants Martinc1994 (talk) 20:04, 23 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Note for Magitroopa and other confirmed users

[edit]

Hello, admins who frequently contribute to this page (especially Magitroopa). I am the unconfirmed user who has provided short summaries for the episodes after each airing. I would like the padlock requirement to be briefly undone so I can continue to make episode summaries (approximately 1-2 hours after the episode's conclusion). You can re-padlock it afterwards; I just want to make the summaries. 66.181.226.151 (talk) 16:19, 25 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
