[edit]Onychophorans are now chordates? Interesting.

Whoa! That was one weird taxonomic treatment (the page previously had onychophorans as amniotes). This is so far afield that it makes me wonder if this was deliberate 'sabotage' of some sort?
I edited the page by using the most recent systematics - that of Poinar (2000); Invertebrate Biology, v. 119, no. 1, p. 104-109. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Syncarid (talk • contribs) 15:02, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
For good measure I also updated the reference section by adding Poinar (2000) as well as Thompson and Jones (1980),which erected the taxon. There was one other previous reference that I deleted; Grimaldi's Evolution of the Insects. Although an excellent work it really doesn't pertain to Helenodora. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Syncarid (talk • contribs) 15:17, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
Here Helenodora is described as an Onychophoran, which is consistent with the references, the latest of which is dated 2016. However, Caron et al (Jan 31 2017) depicts a cladogram in which Helenodora is treated as a sister taxon to Onychophora. Some mention of this claim should be included in this article. Unfortunately, I presently do not have the time to do this in a responsible manner.Ray Glock-Grueneich (talk) 16:23, 12 April 2018 (UTC)
