Tom Wood Filter Crack Incident

[edit]

Why is it that any mention of the following incident is being blocked from this page? Can someone cite a good reason not to include this?

Please add it with the reference, and without undue weight. Even then its relevance on Coonan's page is not really clear. Recurring dreams 01:02, 25 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If the lack of reference was the problem then trying to claim it as "vandalism" is a bit over the top don't you think? Could have used a citation needed tag or just cleaned up the referencing yourself... Anyone in the Australian comms industry has seen that Helen Coonan has been at the centre of the Internet filtering debate for the past five years. John Howard's page covers many of his policies, as is normal for a political figure to be associated with the policies that they espouse. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 61.8.12.133 (talk) 01:53, August 25, 2007 (UTC)
Sorry for my hasty tagging. The addition sounded like vandalism, and I am a bit on edge due to increased levels of vandalism over the last couple of days. Recurring dreams 03:28, 25 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Subsections in Article

[edit]

All the subsections have been ripped out... was there a plan for this? Other political articles have subsections. Should it be split by a different methodology? chronological by parliamentary term maybe? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 61.8.12.133 (talkcontribs)

Would appreciate everyone following protocol, in particular Wikipedia:Avoiding_common_mistakes#Deleting... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 61.8.12.133 (talkcontribs)

Privitisation of Telstra

[edit]

This article should cover something about the sale of Telstra shares, given that Helen Coonan has been extensively involved. Note that the Telstra article has nasty tags all over it, it's a strongly polarising issue and not appropriate to cover the whole thing here. At least Coonan's policies re Telstra should be documented. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 61.8.12.133 (talkcontribs)

In addition, I happen to think that this reads exactly like it was dictated by the woman herself. No mention of a recent incident in which thousands of people in Australia, a lot in central and large cities, were sent letters saying they weren't able to make use of some broadband and some wireless services, when in fact they were. No mention of her ongoing involvment in a debate with Telstra, Australia's monopoly telecom provider, in which both sides are waging a propoganda war. I don't think ANYTHING you read here can be taken with anything less than an entire block of salt, let alone a grain. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Alien00X (talkcontribs) 06:31, 17 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well I can guarantee that the bits I added were not dictated by the woman herself (although some of them paraphrase from DCITA, plus newspaper articles). If you think you can do a decent job of documenting Coonan's place in the Telstra affair then by all means give it a go. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 61.8.12.133 (talkcontribs)
